Tubakuba is a school project, built by 14 students from Bergen school of architecture in the peroid march - june 2014. Tubakuba is on top of Bergens most famous mountain Fløyen, with a panorama view to the city. The construction is made of 95 percent wood and the interior is clad in plywood and the exterior is clad with burned larch. The tunnel consists of curved shavings of pine mounted in layers to provide sufficient strength. The burned cladding is made with the traditional Japanese method Shou Sugi Ban. This is a treatment to prevent fungal decay and damage.
